Baby Jackson

Even though I'm getting started late with this, I figured it would be important to provide some basic background information.

Jackson Po'okela was born at 9:19am on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. He took his time entering the world and required a c-section delivery, but he came out perfectly healthy. He weighed a whopping 9 lbs 1.5 oz and measured 21.5 inches long. He inherited his dad's beautiful blue eyes, and overall, looked very much like him.

During his first year of life, Jackson, Howard and I moved into a brand-new home in Kapolei on the West side of Oahu. His Papa and Nana live on the other side of the island, but his cousin Nesta, Aunty Moani and Uncle Rob live just a few streets over.

Jackson's other cousin Emma lives in San Diego with her parents Aunty Laura and Uncle Martin. Jackson experienced his first plane ride when he went to visit them in September 2007. During that trip, he also met Grandma, Granddad and Uncle El for the first time.

Now that he's a one-year-old, Jackson owns a distinct personality. He's active, chatty, and crawls eagerly and quickly into new activities. If Jackson had his way, he'd never sleep and would subsist on poi, bananas and crackers. He loves dancing, playing with his Playskool Ball Popper, and practicing walking.
