Drunk Sailor

Sunday, Jackson took his first steps! I wasn't actually there to see him travel from the middle of the living room rug to the couch. But I saw him repeat the feat last night. He's a little too eager to run and looks like a drunk sailor, but it is so cute!

Jackson has reached all of his physical milestones on the late side of average. He rolled for the first time at 5 months. He hated tummy time, and since he was so chubby, it was quite the ordeal to flip himself over. Crawling was equally frustrating for him. Jackson army crawled at 7 months and could get himself up an all fours, but wasn't able to go anywhere. He finally figured it out at 8 months, and we were all so relieved. At almost the same time, he pulled up and began cruising the furniture. Since then, cruising and crawling have been his major modes of transportation.

He's still got a ways to go before full-on walking. Soon enough, Howard and I will be getting a lot more exercise.
