This was a rough three-day weekend for the little guy. Jackson woke up around 3am Saturday morning with a fever. Motrin took care of it, and though he didn't seem to have any other symptoms of illness (ears, runny nose, tummy troubles), he clearly didn't feel well. He didn't have much of an appetite, and he just wanted to be held... especially by his Papa.Howard and I continued with the Motrin through Sunday. Around midnight Monday morning, Jackson once again woke up and felt like he was on fire. His temperature was 103, and we were terrified. We ran a bath, and our water-loving child screamed the entire time he was in there. As usual, Dr. Reddy said not to worry, but if we were unable to bring his temperature down with Motrin and Tylenol, to take him to the ER. She also said to keep an eye out for a rash, which would be characteristic of roseola. After yet another medicine battle, Jackson went to sleep. Fortunately, his fever broke a few hours later.
But Jackson's troubles didn't end there. He spent Monday still feeling yucky. During one of his energetic spells, he slipped on his Tonka ride-on toy and smacked his forehead on the entertainment center. A huge, blue bruise formed immediately. Sigh... it's tough being a toddler!
