About a week prior to leaving for our vacation, we told Jackson we'd be going to San Diego. After that he couldn't stop talking about "going to San Diego... and
the big zoo." Unfortunately, the trip got off to a rocky start (and ended on a similar note) because he did not like being confined to an airplane seat for almost six hours. I can't say I blame him, though Howard and I were pretty exhausted by the end of each flight.

However, he did quite well with the change in routine for the rest of the trip. Apparently, lounging in fancy hotels agrees with him.

We stayed at the
Rancho Bernardo Inn thanks to Howard's awesome Priceline skills. Jackson appreciated the many fountains and pool.

Jackson spent lots of quality time with Granddad, Grandma, Emma, Aunty Laura, Uncle Martin and Uncle Eliot. We even met up with the Marinos for a picnic at a beach in Del Mar, where Jackson enjoyed being silly with Aunty Laura and Uncle Martin.

Jackson also had plenty of fun just swinging and digging in the sand at the park near Aunty Laura, Uncle Martin and Emma's house.
