Happiest Place on Earth

In middle of our San Diego trip, we took a detour to Disneyland. Jackson was thrilled to visit the home of Mickey Mouse, Pooh and Nemo. We started in Tomorrowland with the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. The line for Nemo was almost too long for him to tolerate, but it was worthwhile.

After lunch, we rode Alice in Wonderland in Fantasyland, then headed across to the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland. Jackson loved sailing past the hippos, elephants and fish so much that we had to ride twice! We then hopped on the Disneyland Railroad, where he saw his beloved dinosaurs. Then it was time for a nap.

We crossed over to California Adventure and found a cozy spot under a waterfall for him to sleep. After a two-hour slumber, he woke up to the Pixar Play Parade featuring characters from many of his favorite movies.

After the parade, we rode Flik's Flyers (twice) and Heimlich's Chew Chew Train in Bug's Land. Sadly, Jackson was just under the height limit for Tuck and Roll's Drive'Em Buggies. We also rode Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! before heading out to dinner.

We met Aunty Kim and Uncle Gavin at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. Between the dinosaur toy she brought him and the elaborate decor, he was more than entertained throughout the meal. (Thanks to Kim for the pics!)

On day two, Emma, Aunty Laura, Uncle Martin and Uncle Eliot joined us. We went straight to Fantasyland for the kids' benefit, toured the Sleeping Beauty Castle and rode the King Arthur Carousel (twice), Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Storyland Canal Boats, Mad Tea Party and It's a Small World.

Next, we headed over to Mickey's Toontown for lunch. There, Jackson and Emma met Pluto and caroused through Goofy's Playhouse before jumping on the Disneyland Railroad for another look at the dinosaurs.

Jackson took another lengthy nap, this time in New Orleans Square. Afterwards, we watched another parade, Celebrate! A Street Party, on Main Street before returning to Adventureland for one last ride on the Jungle Cruise. By that point, Jackson had his fill of Disney magic, so we headed home.
