We got a head start on celebrating Macy's birthday with a Disney character breakfast at the nearby Aulani resort. The buffet featured typical brunch fare, as well as waffles shaped like Mickey Mouse, which were the birthday girl's favorite. Macy also got to blow out a candle on a mini red velvet cake.
We took a family picture with Mickey upon arrival, except that Macy refused to smile and Jackson refused to take the picture at all because he was terrified of the costumed characters. Goofy and Minnie made several visits to our table; Macy enjoyed them from a distance, while Jackson sought safety under the table. Howard and Papa hammed it up with Goofy, though.
