Native Plants

This weekend's adventure was to Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens. I'm taking an online course on native Hawaiian plants, fishing and cultural practices, and my assignment was to learn about native and non-native plants. This botanical garden has plenty of both, so off we went. Jackson kept pace with me while we looked at the flora on the trail.

Sadly, neither kid was too interested in learning about plants. Jackson collected sticks for fishing and hunted mongoose, while Macy climbed picnic tables. However, this will definitely be somewhere we take them camping when they're a little older.
