Jackson started preschool this week. We celebrated his first day with pancakes, but he was still apprehensive about the new situation.

When we first arrived he was excited about all the climbing structures and learning centers in the room, though he was more interested in exploring everything than adapting to the new routine. But he loved outdoor playtime and eagerly joined in on snack time and lunch. One friend told me how Jackson was "sharing" as he swiped some of Jackson's snacks! Jackson didn't seem to mind, though.

Jackson's teacher is Ms. Colleen, and his class is the Dolphins and Turtles, full other "young 3 year-olds." On Wednesdays (which is what his first day happened to be), the class walks to the adjacent park, so Jackson got a taste of that, as well as the various activities for gross motor development like the jump rope.

On every other day of the week, they get "choice time" inside and on the back patio. Jackson opted for the dinosaur puzzle, the farm and several of the other small toys.

Tomorrow, he goes for a full day without me, so I'll post an update after I get a full report from his teacher.
