Jackson was bound to say these words eventually, but they still took me by surprise. After all, he hasn't really been the type of kid that rushes to meet milestones or keep up with the bigger kids. Maybe it's the impending arrival of the baby and our mention of his new role as a big brother that's causing him to demand non-sippy cups and larger utensils. Or maybe it's the potty training and freedom of wearing underwear. More likely, he's just growing up. But even though he likes to point out the "cute baby" on TV commercials as if he is so much more mature, he still asks to be carried often and wants mom and dad to lay with him at bedtime. He may not be a little baby anymore, but he's not all grown up yet either.
