Pumpkin Patch

To prepare for Halloween, we went to the pumpkin patch sponsored by Aloun Farms. Jackson got down and dirty with pumpkins of many sizes and tried valiantly to lift them all! Fortunately, Howard was there to help him carry the one we took home.

The pumpkin patch offered carnival rides and a petting zoo in addition to all the pumpkin-related activities. Jackson was excited by the elephant ride until he actually experienced how bumpy it was. As soon as it finished, he yelled "pau," as if he couldn't wait to be set free. Similarly, Jackson was eager to cavort with the goats, pig and rabbits. But once he was close enough to touch the animals (and for them to touch him), he was ready to leave.

We also went on a hayride, but the rainclouds opened while we were stuck on the truck. Jackson was a trooper and huddled close to Howard to keep warm.

Jackson fell asleep in the car within minutes of leaving the pumpkin patch, a sign of how much he enjoyed himself.
