Over Memorial Day weekend, we traveled to the Big Island to celebrate the end of Jackson's school year and my birthday. As if staying in a hotel wasn't exciting enough for the kids, this one had a boat and tram to take us around, as well as lagoons filled with fish, rays, turtles and dolphins. Jackson in particular enjoyed taking adventures around the resort (at night with Howard and in the morning with me).
We swam in all three pools, but the sand-bottomed one was the kids' favorite.
We also took a road trip to see the volcano. The drive was long, and we didn't spend much time in a the park, but we did see the crater, learn about different types of lava at the museum and hike through the lava tube.
