We celebrated Jackson's fourth birthday in San Diego. We started the festivities with breakfast at
Cafe 222, which we learned about from
The Best Thing I Ever Ate on
The Food Network. Granted, Jackson didn't choose this particular restaurant, but he was content with his Mickey Mouse pancake while I devoured the recommended stuffed french toast. Macy amused herself by dribbling water down her chin.
The real fun took place at
Sea World. We began by watching Shamu; although Jackson was antsy during the performance, he later commented on the "dancing whales." The highlight for him, of course, was the giant Pacific octopus. He also got a kick out of feeding the bat rays, strolling through the shark exhibit and bouncing around the play area.
We capped the day with pizza, chocolate cake and presents. It was an awesome day for the birthday boy!
